For Tom, Wed

Yuting, I would love to see a rough cut of the motion piece tomorrow, as I've only seen frames or screenshots as of now.

Jen, If you could share your progress tomorrow with the flash game, that would be great as well. Ideally, I'd like the dimensions of your game to be no more than 735px by 470px to fit in the appropriate window.

I'm going to try and continue adding content to the website and finalize some of the design elements. The url is artsbridge.ryangaddis.com

See you all bright and early,

Ryan

Idea for game 1

I found this tutorial of making a sort of line rider game. It allows you to draw any kind of line and the ball bounces along the line you draw. I'll try and have it up and working tomorrow. I am going to include a menu on the side that allows you to change the width of the line and color.
I will also try to make some other games like a make your own artwork drag and drop game.

JEC first web mock up

These are my first two mock ups. In the middle one I was trying to keep the theme of kids and scholars working together. In the top and bottom images I tried to give an art canvas feel to them. The Bottom is the first one and the top one is the final version.

Latest Web Mockup

Here is my latest homepage mockup for the website, drawing upon the style and feel of the new cam website.

I am still waiting for the David's email

I emailed him and asked about these questions
"What do you want the video to say?"
"What words do you want to use in the video?" and
"Please email any text content you wish to be in the video?"

newer logo revision

not drastically different, but accommodating for the original brand established.

Moving Forward

Alright gang, as we move forward on the project, I wanted to create a style resource page which represented our converging ideas, as well as the feedback received in class. I refined the logo and kept the same typography previously used. We will incorporate the ArtsBridge America banner/brand into our website in some capacity, but the College of Arts and Media should have their own urban logo to represent the program here. I drew from Jennifer's color palette to extend the previously specified university colors to include a shade of lighter green, which can be used as an accent. Additionally, I created a muted blue and beige to compliment our primary colors and extend our color palette to 6 colors, including the grey base color. Typography will be changed to the university sanctioned Verdana/Frutiger for text headings, and Times New Roman for paragraph font.

Additionally, I placed the key words which the dean shared with us onto this page, and we will draw upon these terms as we begin to create our content.

For monday, I think we should come prepared with some story boards or wireframes for the website navigation and motion graphics piece. Jennifer, why don't you map out a proposed wireframe board, and Yuting why don't you prepare for the motion piece. Additionally, we can draw from some of the verbage included in Michelle's proposals. I will bring those documents on Monday.

Have a good weekend and post your updates on the blog for feedback!

CHECK YOUR EMAIL BOX FOR AN AI FILE OF THE RESOURCE PAGE LISTED ABOVE, SO YOU CAN USE ANY OF THE ASSETS/COLORS ALREADY PROVIDED.

JEC's New logos

Sorry I didn't post these earlier over the weekend. These are what I have made so far. These will be polished further and will be set to present to the class tomorrow. Please comment what you think so far.

In Preparation for Wed

A week has passed by and only a single logo from Yuting has graced the pages of the blog.

In preparation for tomorrow, I'm assuming that each person will have a full style guide detailing each and every aspect of your ideas for the artsbridge brand. This should include all of the following:

5 highly polished logo iterations
3-4 highly polished color palettes
Illustrative Styles
Photographic styles

Written Justification on:

Overall Objective
Tone
Audience
Deliverables Required

Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

*edit*

Additionally, I'm assuming that each person will present his or her style guide individually to our client and he or she will select what would best suit the needs of the organization.

Artsbridge Resources

Here is the larger organization, Artsbridge America, which CAM ArtsBridge is a part of.

I'd recommend drawing inspiration, at least in part, from this website and relevant info.

http://www.artsbridgeamerica.com/home.php

Additionally, here is an old article from the 2009 ArtsBridge project:

UC Denver Article

As far as I can tell, there is no press for last year's project, aside from the disk with the 2010 movie.

Let's start posting colors and ideas asap so we can give each other feedback.
